After filming the ss documentary with my ss group today, we went to watch 不能说的秘密. The show i thought was quite alright (turned out better than what i expected).
The plot is a bit wierd and maybe off towards the end of the story, but luckily and closely they somehow manage not to screw it up. Guo kept saying the movie was bloody nice and stuff, partly because he's a jay chou fan and his friend told him it was nice before hand, while the others said it was quite alright though bit strange at the end. I thought i should a little grading of my own opinion on the movie:
Acting: 4/5 (amazingly jay chou could act in this movie)
Audio: 5/5 (amazing. fantastic.)
Video: 4.5/5 (it was all very well captured, with colours brillantly matched though the end part cg effects looks a bit screwd)
Choice of Actors: 4/5 ( thought might want to choose a main actress that didn't look so much like Zi Yang.)
Plot: 3.5/5 (Like i said, its a bit wierd in the end but its quite nice in the beginning.)
Extras (jokes and stuff): 5/5 (the jokes are funny and is also well matched up with brilliantly played piano pieces that made the movie seemed magical.)
Overall: 4/5 (Its definitely worth your time and money as the quality of the pictures and audio can only be truely enjoyed in a cinema. I do recommend people to watch them. (people who don't know zi yang that is.)
Favourite scene(s): There were two favourite scenes, one of them was during the piano dueling part, (yeah PIANO DUELING) it was cool and very well chosen pieces that are drawn together by nice jokes. Another one is the part near the ending (not going to review what he was trying to do) where debris where falling down while he played the old and ancient piano. Quite a lot of feel i thought that one was, though the cg effects screwd the thing up a bit.
Jay hoped this will become a classic, well i must say in the area of school romance out so far it is one of the best i watched (most school romance movies are filled with low and lame jokes) and might be considered a classic in this area, however more work needs to be done to be competing against movies like Infernal Affairs and Initial D etc. All and all a brilliant piece of work by a beginner.
